Airway Heights Furnace Repair
If your furnace quits heating, cycles on and off too fast or makes a sound it never made before, we find the failed part and tell you what caused it. The price is on paper before we change anything, and every repair aims to keep your system going for years.

Repairs that keep a sound furnace in service
Most furnaces that quit are not worn out. A cracked hot surface igniter, a flame sensor coated in oxide, a sticking pressure switch or a weak blower capacitor can shut down a system that has plenty of life left. We test each component in the startup sequence until we know which one broke the chain.
We also look at why it failed. A limit switch that keeps tripping usually points to a clogged filter or a blower running too slow, not a bad switch. Fixing the cause is what stops the same call from coming back next month.
If the furnace really is near the end, with a cracked heat exchanger or repeated major failures, we tell you plainly and talk through Furnace Installation. Otherwise, we repair it and keep it going.

What a furnace repair visit covers
- 01
The whole startup sequence
We follow the furnace from the thermostat call to blower shutoff: inducer, pressure switch, igniter, gas valve, flame proving and blower. Wherever the sequence breaks shows us where the fault is.
- 02
Igniter and flame sensor
We check igniter resistance and flame sensor microamps. A low sensor reading means cleaning or replacing it, because a coated rod is one of the top reasons a furnace lights and then drops out a few seconds later.
- 03
Heat exchanger and vent checks
We look for cracks in the heat exchanger and test the flue and draft. On high-efficiency units we clean out the condensate trap and drain lines, which can freeze or clog and trip the pressure switch.
- 04
Blower and electrical parts
We measure blower motor amp draw and test the run capacitor and control board relays. A capacitor that has drifted out of spec strains the motor well before the motor gives out.
- 05
A written quote before the work
You receive a written price for parts and labor before any part is changed. We hold a Washington license and bond and carry $1M general liability insurance.
- 06
Labor coverage
Each repair we finish is backed by a 1-year labor warranty on all repairs.
Questions about Furnace Repair?

It lights, then shuts off
Burners fire for a few seconds and go out, then the cycle repeats. This usually points to a dirty flame sensor or a venting problem the furnace is detecting.
Clicking with no ignition
You hear the inducer and relays but no burner flame. A cracked igniter or a failed gas valve is the likely cause.
Air blowing cool from the vents
The blower runs but the air is lukewarm. The burners may be locked out, or the limit switch may be tripping from overheating.
Short cycling
Frequent on-off cycles waste fuel and wear out the igniter and blower faster. A restricted filter, an oversized system or a bad limit switch can all cause it.
New noises or smells
Squealing points to blower bearings or a belt, and banging at startup can mean delayed ignition. A persistent burning or gas smell means you should shut the system off and call us right away.
Rising gas bills with no change in use
A furnace losing efficiency runs longer for the same heat. Dirty burners, a weak blower or poor combustion are common reasons.
How the repair goes
- 1
You call, we come out
Reach us any hour. We offer no emergency or after-hours fees, so a cold-night visit costs the same as a weekday one.
- 2
Diagnosis at the furnace
We test the components in order and show you what failed and why. Once you approve the repair, the amount you paid for diagnosis is applied to the repair bill.
- 3
Written quote
You get the price in writing before work starts. If a repair does not make sense for an older unit, we say so.
- 4
Repair and test run
We install the part, then run the furnace through several full cycles while checking temperature rise and gas pressure. We clean up and leave the work area as we found it.
What affects the cost of a furnace repair
The cost depends on the part that failed and the work it takes to get to it and swap it. A flame sensor costs much less than a control board or inducer motor. The full price is in writing before we start.
- What failed
- Changing an igniter or capacitor goes quickly. A blower motor, inducer assembly or gas valve takes more parts and more labor.
- The furnace's type and age
- Condensing high-efficiency furnaces carry extra parts like a secondary heat exchanger and a condensate system. Older or discontinued models may need parts ordered in.
- Where the furnace sits
- A unit in an open basement goes faster than one squeezed into a crawlspace or attic.
- Damage one failure caused
- One bad part can take out another, such as a weak capacitor burning up a blower motor. We show you both before giving a price.
Furnace repair questions
Should I fix an older furnace?
Many times, yes. With a sound heat exchanger and one failed part, a repair can give you several more winters. We look at the furnace's age, its repair record and the heat exchanger, then tell you straight. If replacing makes more sense, we can go over Furnace Installation with you.
What makes the limit switch keep tripping?
That switch cuts the burners when the heat exchanger gets too hot. Most of the time the cause is a dirty filter, closed supply registers or a blower that is weak or set to the wrong speed. A new switch without an airflow fix just means another lockout.
Are nights and weekends more expensive?
No. We take furnace calls 24/7 with no emergency or after-hours fees. A visit on a freezing night is priced the same as one during the day.
Do furnace repairs come with a warranty?
They do. Every repair includes a 1-year labor warranty. If our workmanship fails during that year, a technician comes back and corrects it.
How do I keep my furnace from breaking down again?
Replace the filter when it is due and get a tune-up each fall before the heavy heating months. That visit finds weak capacitors, dirty flame sensors and clogged condensate lines before they leave you without heat. Our Maintenance Plans include the yearly tune-up.
